Sometimes the shortest escapes are the best escapes, and what better place to get away to than Los Cabos in the middle of the winter. Only a short flight away from Southern California, Cabo provides a great balance of fun, incredible food, and peaceful tranquility, all done with a Margarita in hand. Not to mention some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Grown up Spring Break is calling!
We caught up with Golden Edit girl Greta Tufvesson, co-founder of bespoke matchmaking service, The Bevy, on her way back from one of those idyllic getaways. Read on as she shares her experience at luxury resort Las Ventanas, her wellness routine while away, and find out why she always throws a denim shirt in her warm weather suitcase. We might just steal this one from you, Greta!
Where did you stay? Tell us about the mood and why you chose it?
Since California has been my home base for the past few years we've come to realize that a perfect escape is to head down to Los Cabos. It's a short flight that transports you into the beauty, culture and delicious food of Mexico. This vacation was particularly special as it was our five year wedding anniversary. Las Ventanas al Paraiso exceeded all of our expectations. This Rosewood property is truly exquisite in every way. When you arrive, you are greeted with margaritas, a mariachi band, and a personal butler. The property has traditional Mexican architecture, five restaurants, a sensational spa, and sweeping ocean views. The food is exceptional, the service is some of the best I've ever experienced, and whether you are searching for some liveliness or complete tranquility, this Rosewood resort has a bit of everything.
Your ideal day while in Los Cabos?
Los Cabos has so much to offer, but with two toddlers at home, I like to avoid any type of schedule when I'm away. At Las Ventanas, the Sea Grill offers a healthy breakfast at waterfront tables, and honestly there is nothing more therapeutic than enjoying your morning coffee on the white beaches of Mexico. Afterwards, a walk along the ocean is a great way to clear my head and get some blood flowing because for the rest of the day I prefer to stay in my lounge chair and dive into a good book while I sip cocktails and eventually doze off under the umbrella. Post nap, I love a swim, some tacos, and maybe a beach side massage. For dinner, I tend to dress up and venture out to one of our favorite restaurants.
Where to for lunch? And dinner?
I like to keep lunch light and the Tequila and Ceviche Bar at Las Ventanas is superb. For dinner, my absolute favorite is Flora Farms. It's a unique dining experience on a 25-acre organic working farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains in San Jose del Cabo. The food is fresh from the farm, and while pizza in Mexico is not your first instinct, this pizza is a must!

What book are you reading?
I'm reading a fascinating book called The Girl with Seven Names. It's about a girl who grew up in North Korea and was trapped under the very secretive and scary totalitarian regime. She escapes and returns 12 years later to get her mother and brother. It's a riveting story of her very dangerous journey to bring her family to freedom. Great read!
Your wellness routing while away?
When I'm away from my kids, I really try to catch up on sleep. I work out regularly at home so when I'm on vacation, I rarely go to the gym. I do love outdoor activities, so I make sure to walk and swim every day. For skin, I highly recommend Lumion Mist and Joanna Vargas Eden Sheet Masks - hydration and lift!
What are your "must-pack" items?
Packing for warm weather is the best kind of packing there is! I always seem to pack a lot of white but I never forget to pack a long flowy dress, hats, and a denim shirt. It's important to have pieces that transition from day to night without fuss. There are so many pieces from Golden Edit that I love this season... the Pomona skirt is probably my favorite. The color looks beautiful on any skin tone and it can be casual or dressy. I am also obsessed with the Olympia palazzo white pant - another great transitional piece which is what you want when you are packing light. Lastly, best hat find this season is the La Playa sunhat. I love its rustic weave, and it's just so light. A dream to travel with!
